Paul’s 3 Prayers

Unknown

Paul told the church in Corinth that he had prayed three times for God to remove his thorn in the flesh.

I think we sometimes approach prayer with an attitude that volume is of great importance.  We’re certainly to be prayerful people (1Thess. 5) and are assured that our prayers are heard and can accomplish great things (James 5).

So I’m not proposing that we pray less or that “three” is the “right” number of prayers to pray for what we desire.

But I do believe that in Paul’s three prayers we can see the power of prayer and can have great confidence in the fact that God is hearing our prayers and considering them as we pray them.  We don’t have to pray for weeks or hundreds of times before we’re heard.  God is listening, and answering, right now.
