You won’t every find a candidate that shares all of your opinions on everything, the best you can hope for is someone who shares a similar worldview as you. And it’s easy to see a candidate’s worldview, if you just listen to what they’re saying.
Here’s an insight into two candidate’s worldview of God. When asked about their relationship with God, this is what they had to say….
“I’m constantly asking myself questions about what I’m doing, why am I doing it.”
“What I believe in is that if I live my life as well as I can, that I will be rewarded.”
“(Sin is) Being out of alignment with my values.”
“I’m not sure that I have (ever asked God for forgiveness).”
“(I’m most aligned spiritually) when I’m being true to myself.”
“I don’t bring God into that picture (when I do something wrong).”
Do you believe in Heaven? “I don’t presume to have knowledge of what happens after I die.”
“I don’t think in terms of that.” (Asking God for forgiveness)
